HEART RATE, PACE, POWER & POSITION TESTING
Non-Invasive Determination of Lactate Threshold
While the onset of lactate threshold (LT) is most accurately determined by measuring blood lactate concentration during a progressively increasing physiological effort, there exists a number of well-accepted methods for determining one's LT using indoor test protocols on a bicycle trainer or treadmill without the need for blood draw.
Knowing your power output, running pace, and/or heart rate at lactate threshold provides the keystone information required for effectively defining your training zones and optimizing your workout sessions for results. This testing package includes a full report and break down of training zones derived from one of the following:
- Running pace and running heart rate at lactate threshold using a graded treadmill test protocol
- Cycling power output and cycling heart rate at lactate threshold using a CompuTrainer ergometer
$50 - Two hour session to determine critical metrics at lactate threshold

Power Profiling for Cyclists
Using your power at functional threshold, you can easily define your training zones for your day-to-day training. But if you're serious about making significant improvements over the course of a season, power profiling is essential.
At Think Fast Multisport, you can have access to a unique indoor test for determining your best power at 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes and 20 minutes. These power metrics roughly correspond to your power at neuromuscular burst capacity, anaerobic capacity, maximal oxygen uptake (VO2 max), and lactate threshold (LT). Using these data, your power profile will subsequently be determined and summarized in a report, providing valuable insight as to where your strengths are and what improvements can be made with targeted training. Included in the report are suggestions as to how to incorporate the findings into your training, along with example workouts appropriate to your improvement needs.
$100 - Two hour session to determine power profile

Triathlon/Time Trial Bike Position Optimization
For every race against the clock, there is always a fine balance between aerodynamics on the bike and power output. At Think Fast Multisport, you can have the opportunity to refine your bike position without the need for on-the-road testing or wind-tunnel access. By utilizing a CompuTrainer ergometer to simulate a race course or specified wattage load, you'll work through a test protocol designed to measure your power output while side- and front-looking video is used to qualitatively assess your aerodynamics in a given position. While adjustability is ultimately governed by your overall bike-fit, the following list identifies some of the key adjustments to be evaluated:
- Virtual seat tube angle with saddle fore/aft adjustment
- Leg-to-chest critical angle with aerobar height adjustment
- Chest expansion and lung volume with armrest width adjustment
- Critical power with saddle height and aerobar extension reach adjustments
$150 - Three hour session for power versus position data and video capture
